Empowering indigenous pastors with backyard enterprises, so they can better serve their congregations and impact their communities.
The Challenge How do African pastors support themselves in areas where there are very few, if any, Christians? When the financial support of a congregation is not enough, they need other ways to make a living. The only sustainable way for African church planters to reach areas with few Christians is to have another job or business to support their families and ministry. This practice is called bi-vocationalism. The Apostle Paul himself was bi-vocational, making tents to finance himself and his ministry. We believe this is the most practical and sustainable method to finance reaching unreached groups with the gospel. | ![]() |
The Rabbit Solution Raising rabbits is an ideal starting business model as meat rabbits can be sold at market within 3-4 months, giving a quick return to the entrepreneur. Minimal space is required, the product is in high demand, and pastors’ wives and children can also participate in the business operations and help it grow over time. Starting with four females and one male, it is anticipated that the enterprise can readily be grown to ten females and two males while earning profit along the way. In this way, a pastor and his family can be self-supported indefinitely. Your gift will help a pastoral family start their own rabbit farm. | ![]() |
